Psalm 33:8-12
Let all the earth fear the Lord; let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him!  For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm. The Lord brings the counsel of the nations to nothing; he frustrates the plans of the peoples. The counsel of the Lord stands forever, the plans of his heart to all generations. Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people whom he has chosen as his heritage!
The God of Abraham Praise
1 The God of Abraham praise, who reigns enthroned above,
The Ancient of eternal days, the God of love!
The Lord, the great I AM, by earth and heav’n confessed –
We bow before His holy name forever blest.
2 He by His name has sworn; on this we shall depend,
And as on eagles’ wings upborne to heav’n ascend.
There we shall see His face; His pow’r we shall adore
And sing the wonders of His grace forevermore.
3 The goodly land I see, with peace and plenty blest,
A land of sacred liberty and endless rest.
There milk and honey flow, and oil and wine abound;
The tree of life forever grows with mercy crowned.
4 There rules the Lord our King, the Lord our Righteousness,
Victorious over death and sin, the Prince of Peace.
On Zion’s sacred height His kingdom He maintains,
And glorious with His saints in light forever reigns.
5 Triumphant hosts on high, give thanks to God and sing,
And “Holy, holy, holy” cry, “Almighty King!”
Hail, Abraham’s God and ours! One mighty hymn we raise.
All pow’r and majesty be Yours and endless praise!
Words: Thomas Olivers. Music: Hebrew melody, adapt. Meyer Lyon, 1770.
God Moves in a Mysterious Way
1 God moves in a mysterious way
His wonders to perform;
He plants His footsteps in the sea
And rides upon the storm.
2 In deep, unfathomed, hidden mines
Of never failing skill
He treasures up His bright designs
And works His sovereign will.
3 Ye fearful saints, fresh courage take;
The clouds ye so much dread
Are big with mercy and shall break
In blessings on your head.
4 Judge not the Lord by feeble sense,
But trust Him for His grace;
Behind a frowning providence
He hides a smiling face.
5 His purposes will ripen fast,
Unfolding every hour;
The bud may have a bitter taste,
But sweet will be the flower.
6 Blind unbelief is sure to err
And scan His work in vain;
God is His own interpreter,
And He will make it plain.
Words: William Cowper. Music: Scottish Psalter.
By Faith
1 By faith we see the hand of God
In the light of creation's grand design.
In the lives of those who prove His faithfulness,
Who walk by faith and not by sight.
2 By faith our fathers roamed the earth,
With the pow’r of His promise in their hearts,
Of a holy city built by God's own hand,
A place where peace and justice reign.
Chorus:
We will stand as children of the promise;
We will fix our eyes on Him, our soul's reward.
Till the race is finished and the work is done.
We'll walk by faith and not by sight.
3 By faith the prophets saw a day
When the longed-for Messiah would appear,
With the pow’r to break the chains of sin and death,
And rise triumphant from the grave.

4 By faith the church was called to go
In the pow’r of the Spirit to the lost.
To deliver captives and to preach good news
In every corner of the earth.
5 By faith, this mountain shall be moved,
And the pow’r of the gospel shall prevail;
For we know in Christ all things are possibleFor those who call upon His name.

Scripture Reading
Galatians 3:7-14
Know then that it is those of faith who are the sons of Abraham. And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying, “In you shall all the nations be blessed.” So then, those who are of faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith. For all who rely on works of the law are under a curse; for it is written, “Cursed be everyone who does not abide by all things written in the Book of the Law, and do them.” Now it is evident that no one is justified before God by the law, for “The righteous shall live by faith.” But the law is not of faith, rather “The one who does them shall live by them.” Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us—for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who is hanged on a tree”— so that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we might receive the promised Spirit through faith.
Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence
1 Let all mortal flesh keep silence,
And with fear and trembling stand;
Ponder nothing earthly minded,
For with blessing in his hand
Christ our God to earth descendeth,
Our full homage to demand.
2 King of kings, yet born of Mary,
As of old on earth He stood,
Lord of lords in human vesture,
In the body and the blood.
He has giv'n to all the faithful
His own self for heav'nly food.
3 Rank on rank, the host of heaven
Spreads its vanguard on the way,
As the Light of Light descendeth
From the realms of endless day,
That the pow'rs of hell may vanish,
As the darkness flees away.
4 At his feet the six-winged seraph,
Cherubim with sleepless eye
Veil their faces to the presence,
As with ceaseless voice they cry:
“Alleluia, alleluia!
Alleluia, Lord Most High!”
Words: Gerard Moultrie. Music: French melody.
Children ages 3 through 3rd grade are dismissed to their classes at this time.
Here Is God
1 Here is God, at last revealed,
In the person of a Son.
All the words of all the prophets
In one final Word have come.
He is sleeping in a stable,
Living, breathing Son of Man.
God the King has left His heaven
To become a little Lamb.
2 Here is God, our second Adam,
True fulfiller of the law.
Death till now has reigned unchallenged;
Christ will triumph o’er the fall.
Tried and tempted; but unsinning,
He will take our sinner’s place.
He’s the firstborn out of many,
Founder of the Christian race.
3 Here is God, the risen Conq’rer;
Sing His praise eternally.
Our hearts’ longing now is granted:
His pure unveiled face we see.
Heaven’s greatest Treasure given,
Unrestricted, unrestrained,
To the Church He died to ransom
For the glory of His name.

Communion

Christ, the True and Better
1 Christ, the true and better Adam,
Son of God and Son of man;
Who, when tempted in the garden
Never yielded, never sinned.
He who makes the many righteous,
Brings us back to life again.
Dying, He reversed the curse, then
Rising, crushed the serpent's head.
Chorus:
Amen! Amen!
From beginning to end.
Christ the story;
His, the glory.
Alleluia! Amen!
2 Christ, the true and better Isaac,
Humble son of sacrifice;
Who would climb the fearful mountain,
There to offer up His life.
Laid with faith upon the altar;
Father's joy and only Son.
There salvation was provided;
Oh, what full and boundless love.
3 Christ, the true and better Moses,
Called to lead a people home;
Standing bold to earthly powers,
God's great glory to be known.
With His arms stretched wide to heaven,
See the waters part in two.
See the veil is torn forever,
Cleansed with blood we pass now through.
4 Christ, the true and better David,
Lowly Shepherd, mighty King.
He the champion in the battle,
Where, O death, is now thy sting?
In our place He bled and conquered;
Crown Him Lord of Majesty.
His shall be the throne forever.
We shall e’re His people be.
